The admissions criteria for Lund University vary depending on the level of study (Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D.) and the specific programme.
The general admissions requirements are listed below, but please note that there may be some other country- and programme-specific requirements for you to consider.
Bachelor's level studies:
All students must have successfully completed their upper secondary education and be able to demonstrate proficiency in English by means of an internationally recognised test, e.g. TOEFL, IELTS, or the equivalent.
Master's level studies:
Having a Bachelor's degree from an internationally recognised university and demonstrating proficiency in English by means of an internationally recognised test, e.g. TOEFL, IELTS or the equivalent. Most programmes at Lund University require a level of English equivalent to IELTS 6.5.

The main application period for international students is mid October–15 January for all programmes starting in the autumn semester (late August) each year.

The Lund University Global Scholarship is the University’s main scholarship and is open to international students who are citizens of non-EU/EEA countries. This is a merit-based scholarship that students can apply for after they have applied for degree studies at Lund University.
Lund University also has a competitive scholarship programme aimed at outstanding students from Africa who have excelled academically at one of the universities that are part of the African Research Universities Alliance (ARUA). This scholarship is based on academic merit and is designed to support talented individuals in their educational pursuits.
National scholarships, such as the Swedish Institute Study Scholarship, are another type of financial aid. It should also be mentioned that the University has agreements with local funding organisations in several countries.
