The degree programme is entirely taught in English and jointly operated by five universities: University of Bologna, Italy, University Lille1, France, Jagiellonian University of Krakow, Poland, University Leipzig, Germany and University of Helsinki, Finland. The ASC Joint Master's course focuses on spectroscopic analysis methodologies, thus providing chemistry students with all necessary tools in the most advanced spectroscopic techniques, at the highest level, which they are able to apply to the research domain of chemistry of their choice. It includes a mandatory mobility of students within the ASC Consortium, based on their choice of a specialization according to our partners' expertise.

Admission to the second cycle degree/two year master requires possession of a first cycle degree or a bachelor's degree awarded after three years of study, or a foreign qualification recognised as suitable. Additionally, candidates must meet the curricular requirements and pass the assessment of personal competence.
To be able to profitably follow the 2nd Cycle Degree Programme in Advanced Spectroscopy in Chemistry, students must possess the following knowledge:
  • Sufficient English-language proficiency is a prerequisite for admission to the programme. Minimum is the B2 level of the European reference system
  • Fundamentals of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry, Inorganic, Physical and Analytical Chemistry
